I wonder why doesn't it happen in Pakistan!!!!

Everytime I see sale n discount offers at e-commerce websites on Christmas, New year, Halloween, Thanksgiving and other so many occasions I always force to think myself why doesn't merchants in Pakistan thinks this way? Instead why they shoot up the prices whenever some special event or holidays season occurs in our country?

I'm not an economics geek who knows the pros n cons of this strategy but being a normal citizen [read it shopaholic :)] I really miss these kind a offers on our Eid events and envy people who live abroad. However here the case is totally opposite; these greedy people step-up the prices quite long before Eid events instead of lowering.

They copy Europeans all the time in their life styles but when it comes to values; simply become ignorant.

Multiple Browser Versions on Single Machine

IETester is quite a good tool to have multiple IE versions on single machine and go some extent extra in testing.

And to have same facility with firefox, you can use Edskes Software Mozilla Firefox Collection
Another way to have multiple firefox versions is:

1. Install all different versions that you want to have in different 'Program Files' and 'Start Menu' folders.
2. Create a separate firefox profile for each version.
3. Right click shortcut icon of each version > Properties > In “Target” textbox; append “-P oldfirefox -no-remote” (without quotes). 'oldfirefox' is the profile name you created in step 2.
4. Remember, you have to append this command at all places (Desktop shortcut icon, Start Menus entry, Quick Launch icon) separately.

S/W Developer's Spellings

I have started messing up spellings of most of the words and this all has happened to me by reading and testing spellings written by developers each day. They always try to write some unique and weird kind a spelling of words; I wonder how hard they put in to think a totally out of context spelling of words.

They write -

• Subscribtion instead of Subscription
• Than to then & Then to Than

They love to add "something extra" to everything no matter its just an 'e'. They write -

• Desireable instead of Desirable

They think space is a useless keyboard key. They write -

• Doesnot to Does not
• 9:30AM instead of 9:30 AM

Ordering of letters doesn't mean much important to them. They write -

• Recieved instead of Received

Often they exaggerate by adding triplets instead of doubles -

• Expresss instead of Express

Also Im not sure why they always remain in an exclamatory mood. They diligently put an exclamation mark (!) at the end of each error/success messages in softwares. They used to say -

• Your profile information has been saved!
• Sorry we didnt find any match for this keyword. Please try to search other similar words!
• Your password has been changed successfully!

Ohh God, stop them please to innovate a whole new set of language.

T1 Lines

There can be two different lines offered from a phone company: a normal business line/ residential line & a T1 line. A normal phone line is usually a pair of copper wires that transmit voice as an analog signal. When you use a normal modem on a line like this, it can transmit data at 30 kb/second.

Now a days, all voice traffic is digital rather than analog signals and flows over fiber optic lines with different designations of capacity.

A T1 line means that the phone company has brought a fiber optic line into your office. A T1 line can carry 24 digitized voice channels, or it can carry data at a rate of 1.544 megabits per second. If the T1 line is being used for telephone conversations, it plugs into the office's phone system. If it is carrying data it plugs into the network's router.

A T1 line can carry about 192,000 bytes per second -- roughly 60 times more data than a normal residential modem. It is also extremely reliable -- much more reliable than an analog modem. Depending on what they are doing, a T1 line can generally handle quite a few people. For general browsing, hundreds of users are easily able to share a T1 line comfortably. If they are all downloading MP3 files or video files simultaneously it would be a problem, but that still isn't extremely common.

Here are some of the common line designations:

• DS0 - 64 k­ilobits per second
• ISDN - Two DS0 lines plus signaling (16 kilobytes per second), or 128 kilobits per second
• T1 - 1.544 megabits per second (24 DS0 lines)
• T3 - 43.232 megabits per second (28 T1s)
• OC3 - 155 megabits per second (84 T1s)
• OC12 - 622 megabits per second (4 OC3s)
• OC48 - 2.5 gigabits per seconds (4 OC12s)
• OC192 - 9.6 gigabits per second (4 OC48s)
